- What you have and what you need

Can I upgrade my hardware and keep DTE? Can I switch operating systems and keep the same SynergyDE version? Can I upgrade DTE and SynergyDE and still stay on my same system?

Various DTE versions are supported with different SynergyDE versions and hardware configurations. Depending upon the date of your DTE distribution, upgrading to a new SynergyDE version may require DTE window script and/or program changes -- no charge for supported customers.
If you're interested in upgrading hardware or software and are not sure what you need, check the chart below. You'll find the compatible combination for your system and *DTE Standard v7, Water/Utility v7, DTE v3.5, or DTE v3.4.1 and before* business software.

DTE v7.0 Standard Distribution
SynergyDE v7 series is supported with the following OS notes: - - - - - - - Windows 2000 servers are supported. - - - - - - - Windows 2003 servers require SynergyDE v8 series. - - - - - - - SCO UnixWare requires a minimum of v7.1.0	SynergyDE v8 series is supported, window script modifications required with the following OS notes: - - - - - - - Windows 2000/2003 servers are supported. * - - - - - - - SCO UnixWare OS requires a minimum of v7.1.0	SynergyDE v9 32-bit series is supported with window script and program code modifications required with the following OS notes: - - - - - - - Windows 2003/2008 servers are supported. * - - - - - - - Windows Vista OS client 32- or 64-bit server requires SynergyDE v9 series * - - - - - - - Windows 7 OS 32- or 64-bit , client or server requires SynergyDE v9.1.5 b or higher *	Exclusions : SynergyDE prior to v7 series and Windows clients prior to Win98 are not supported. - - - - - - - SynergyDE v8.3.1 does not support clients prior to Windows 2000 * - - - - - - - SynergyDE v8.3.1 does not support SCO UnixWare prior to v7.1.1 - - - - - - - SynergyDE v8 series does not** support Windows 64-bit servers or Windows 2008 Servers * Back to top
Any component, Client, or Server of Windows Vista or Window7 OS requires SynergyDE v9 series. Any component, Client, or Server of Windows7 OS requires SynergyDE v9.1.5 b or higher. Any 64-bit Server OS requires a 64-bit SynergyDE distribution. Any 64-bit client OS on a network with a 32-bit server is supported with a 32-bit SynergyDE distribution. *
DTE v7.0 Water Management (Available only for Windows® systems)
SynergyDE v7 series is supported with the following OS notes: - - - - - - - Windows 2000 servers are supported. Windows 2003 servers require SynergyDE v8 series.	SynergyDE v8 series is supported with the following OS notes: - - - - - - - Windows 2000 and 2003 servers are supported.	SynergyDE v9 32-bit series is supported with window script and program code modifications required with the following OS notes: - - - - - - - Windows 2003 servers are supported. *	Exclusions : Synergy versions prior to SynergyDE 7 series and Windows clients prior to Windows XP are not supported. - - - - - - - Windows Vista OS with DTE is not supported at this time * - - - - - - - DTE, any version, does not support 64-bit systems at this time Back to top
DTE v3.5
Synergy v5.7.9 and Synergy v6 series are supported - - - - - - - SynergyDE v7 series support is available upon special request	SynergyDE v8 series is supported with some subroutine and window script modifications - - - - - - - Contact DTE Technical support for important information	SynergyDE v9 series is onlysupported with custom modifications to the program source code.	Exclusions : Synergy v5.7.8 and prior are not supported for any DTE version as they are not Y2K compliant Back to top
DTE v3.4.1, v3.4, v3.3
Synergy v5.7.9 (to be Y2K compliant) is supported	SynergyDE v6 series, v7 series, and v8 series are not supported. (Upgrade for both DTE and SynergyDE is required)	SynergyDE v7, v8, and v9 series isnotsupported for standard DTE release. Custom modifications for compatibility are available upon request.	Exclusions : DTE v3.2 and prior as well as Synergy v5.7.8 and prior are not supported as they are not Y2K compliant Back to top
