Within this beautiful resort is a little bit
of Down To Earth, too. Golden Strand Resort was
first introduced to DTE in 1997 when Accounts
Payable and General Ledger were bundled with
their Resort/Timeshare software. Since that
time, their Down To Earth version has been
updated and the platform moved from UNIX to
Windows. Many of the enhancements in the
current DTE v7 were just what the accounting
department was looking for, plus one custom
change.
Because of the unique location, they often
have foreign ownership of their timeshares. So
in 2008, they decided to add a new 1099 format,
1042-S (Foreign person’s US Source Income) to
make their year end accounting more
efficient.
